The much derided Los Angeles River is a simply a massive concrete gutter by the time it passes through Downtown. Internationally known as a symbol of urban blight and sprawl, it has also become home to Downtown's large homeless population and good spot to throw up your tag, stencil, paste-up, or large-scale piece.

The large MTA piece to the left of the kayakers is a quarter mile long, and visible from planes landing at LAX.
